Esh Group collaborates with CITB to reduce carbon consumption
Leading construction company Esh Group have designed an innovative program aimed at the reduction of carbon within construction. The Carbon Coach Course will demonstrate vital knowledge and skills for apprentices entering the industry and instil efficient solutions in energy saving and sustainability whilst effectively reducing costs.
Rita Callender, Business Development Manager at Esh Group, said: “The Carbon Coach Course is about two key things, tackling a skills shortage in the construction industry and meeting carbon-reduction targets”.
The online course will be funded through the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) at a cost of £49,460 and will provide apprentices with real life situations which will challenge them on how they will reduce carbon footprints within projects, in addition to utilising energy efficient tools.
Esh Group are committed to offer “shared ownership, affordable rent and older person’s accommodation” through upgrading current builds in addition to developing new homes within the UK, ensuring they are “designed and built with sustainable and cost effective” eco-friendly features, such as “solar thermal panels”, “air source heat pumps” and “argon double glazed units” to reduce costs but provide increased standards in energy efficiency.
Geeta Nathan, Head of Economic Analysis at CITB, said: “CITB is proud to fund a project committed to providing apprentices with the skills and training that will benefit the industry and the environment".
Rita added: “We are delighted that our programme has been selected for funding and by targeting apprentices early in their training, we can help inspire many to make carbon reduction an important part of their future careers.”
