Executives from Hyperloop One have joined policymakers and transportation experts to reveal new Hyperloop routes within the US, initiating conversations about future US transportation systems.
Presented by 11 teams, these routes will connect 35 cities, covering an impressive 2,800 miles. They will join 24 other teams worldwide to be among 12 overall finalists. Once selected, three individuals will work with Hyperloop One engineering and business development teams to explore project development and financing. At the end of the year, Hyperloop One aim to have gained a team of 500 engineers, fabricators, scientists and experts within various functions.
Hyperloop One's panel of experts in transportation, technology, economics and innovation are considering the following route proposals:
The proposed routes will reduce transport time between some of the most congested routes significantly. Rob Lloyd, Chief Executive Officer of Hyperloop One has said, “This disruptive technology – conceived, developed and built in the US – will move passengers and cargo faster, cleaner and more efficiently. It will transform transportation as we know it and create a more connected world,” enabling broad benefits across communities and markets, besides providing world-class infrastructure.
The company has been advancing the technology within the new transportation system significantly and have recently completed a tube installation on the 1640ft long DevLoop, situated within Las Vegas. The area currently serves as a sophisticated outdoor lab for its proprietary levitation, propulsion, vacuum and control technologies.
Shervin Pishevar, Executive Chairman of Hyperloop One said: "With Hyperloop One, we are on the brink of the first great breakthrough in transportation technology of the 21st century, eliminating the barriers of time and distance and unlocking vast economic opportunities.”
