French construction company Vinci SA has announced that it has secured a new contract to build Line 14 South on the developing Grand Paris Express rapid-transit system.

The contract, valued at approximately €400mn, was awarded to a consortium led by Vinci SA and fellow French construction company Spie Batignolles.

The length of the line will be 4.6km, of which the consortium will be expected to excavate, whilst also constructing the new Kremlin Bicêtre Hôpital station.

The project will take approximately three years to complete, with route expected to become an integral transportation link between Paris and Orly Airport during the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Approximately 250 jobs will be created during the construction process.
