As part of a SEK 1.5 billion contract Skanska will be constructing new buildings at Linneaus Univerisy in Kalmar, Sweden. This new construction project includes three new buildings with a total area of 43,000 square metres, including an underground garage. This equates to around SEK 1billion.

The second part of the contract, worth SEK 500million, is for the refurbishment and extension of three houses, up to six storeys high, in the western part of the campus. These will primarily house offices, lecture halls and auditoriums.

The refurbishment and new builds will all be environmentally certified in accordance with LEED, the green building council.

Construction will begin in February 2016 with the western campus refurbishment set to be completed by summer 2019 and the new buildings to be finished the following year.

Skanska is one of the world's leading project development and construction groups, concentrated on selected home markets in the Nordic countries, other European countries and in North America, with a focus on green construction, ethics, occupational health and safety.
