Prologis, the global leader in industrial real estate, this week begins a speculative development of a 37,000 square metre logistics facility at the Port of Gothenburg Logistics Park. Construction started on the 18th of April, with completion due in the first quarter of 2017.

The new facility, Prologis Park Gothenburg II, will be built on a 130,000 square metre area of land acquired by Prologis from the City of Gothenburg. Phase one of the project includes 37,000 square metres in two buildings, but there are plans to develop a number of logistics facilities totalling approximately 65,000 square metres.

Allan Lavén, Regional Director of Prologis Nordic, said: “Gothenburg is the Nordics’ logistics hub, and the need for modern logistics properties continues to increase. Our existing logistics facility of 70,000 square metres in Gothenburg is fully leased and we are already in advanced discussions with tenants for the new facility.”

The facility will offer logistics space starting at 5,000 square metres. The larger of the two buildings, at 27,000 square metres, can be subdivided into three parts to accommodate multiple tenants.
