According to a new report released by Westfield Health, 64% of construction workers want better physical and mental wellbeing support in their workplaces.
35% of the questioned employees believe that a segment of National Insurance payments should be used for improving wellbeing, whilst 65% do not think the NHS has enough money for wellbeing.
More than half of the surveyed construction workers, at 52%, argue that the UK government should do more to promote wellbeing.
However, 35% suggest that their employers should do more to support the wellbeing of employees, both physical and mental, with 64% claiming they would use services if they were provided.
The surveyed workers prioritised exercise, at 42%, health check-ups, at 35%, and dental work, at 34%, of services they would like to be offered.
“The total number of UK working days lost to stress, anxiety and depression resulting from long working hours is 12.5million days,” stated David Capper, Commercial Director of Westfield Health.
“Therefore, it makes sense for employers to relieve some of the pressure through wellbeing initiatives.”
