Balfour Beatty has announced that it has been awarded a major contract to work on a high rise residential construction scheme in Hong Kong.
Gammon Construction, Balfour Beatty’s 50:50 Far East Joint Venture (J.V), has been awarded a residential building contract to build eight residential blocks and four houses with a two-level basement in Northern Hong Kong, valued at around HKD$3bn (£295mn).
As part of the works, Gammon Construction will utilise the latest technology including 3D scanning and Building Information Modelling (BIM) to generate and manage vital project data to enhance construction efficiencies.
Thomas Ho, Chief Executive of Gammon, said, “We are delighted to be chosen as the construction partner of Great Eagle Group for this project. Works are scheduled for completion by the end of 2019 and at peak construction will employ 1,000 people.
