International global construction and programme management consulancy company, Turner & Townsend, has been selected to provide the IT cost management services for GlaxoSmithKline's new Asian HQ.

GSK is relocating to an eight-storey office block with 15,000m2 of space and a 1,000 employee capacity. Turner & Townsend will take on responsbility for benchmaking and managing all of the new development's IT costs; this marks an important widening of the company's remit.

The new HQ will be home to all staff across GSK's phamaceuticals, vaccines, and consumer healthcare businesses, which are all seeing growth in Asia. The site will be fully fitted and completed in late 2017.

Chris Quick, Associate Director for Turner & Townsend, commented: “This win is an extremely important milestone for Turner & Townsend in Singapore.

“Not only does this relocation project help to cement an ever-strengthening relationship with GSK in Asia, but it is another solid example of our IT cost management capabilities in Singapore. The project also provides us with an opportunity to continue our growth into this new area of expertise.

”We will be using our extensive database of local and global cost benchmarking to drive down capital costs and ensure best value for money. Moreover, our expanded role will give GSK a single point of contact for all cost-related issues.”
